Badji

The meeting of two worlds: that of the Native Indians and Africans who lived on the island of Haiti. In
vodou, the word Badji refers to the country or even more the nation. This word also translates the
transmission of the known, of knowledge, principles from the Native Indians to the African captives.

Je suis gran nèg

In Haitian Creole, the word nèg (negro) refers to man. I am a great Negro is a reading around the resilience of the Haitian nation. This song tells of the upset fate of the Haitian people. In the vodou imagination in Haiti, the Wongol king returns each year to visit the Haitians, descendants of African captives. During the presence of this character, considered as a loa in vodou, vodou practitioners take
the opportunity to question him on the origins, causes and consequences of the slave trade, colonization and slavery in the new world.

Kafou the swarming red of the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince. The return of the prodigal son to his birthplace. This song describes the path that took Erol to Kafou. An exercise in memory of this ‘ jamais dodo ’ town (that never sleeps).

Avelekete

Avelekete is a contraction of the expression Ayizan Velekete. In Haitian vodou, it symbolizes purity. A land of freedom. Represented by the palm tree, it symbolizes freedom. In this piece, Mistress Ayizan is called to accompany men who are often considered macho men who do not express their sensitivity. They often prefer to hide to cry and express their sadness. It is a tribute to the men victims and survivors
of the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010 in Haiti.

Pèlerinaj fla vodou

Inspired by the ambulatory pilgrimage. Pilgrims sing this song of valor to climb paths and hills in order to reach the foot of their patron saint. It tells the pride of these pilgrims who for a better tomorrow refuse to beg. This song reflects Haiti’s refusal to continue to seek international aid. Given the historical and cultural richness of this land, it is the expression of a vision focused on the autonomy of Haitian society, a call against the policy of assistantship.

Ati sole

Haiti puts its sun in the feminine. The Sun Queen has been honored in sun worship since the Native-Indian period. This cult which glorifies the star is still jealously protected in the vodou ceremonies. Ati Sole, the Sun Queen that permeates the body and the blood, sends us back this desire to return to our island civilization।

Haiti puts its sun in the feminine. The Sun Queen has been honored in sun worship since the Native-Indian period. This cult which glorifies the star is still jealously protected in the vodou ceremonies. Ati Sole, the Sun Queen that permeates the body and the blood, sends us back this desire to return to our island civilization.
